I'm thinking about dropping an AXP 2400+ into my MSI KM2M motherboard. The reason I'd go with a standard 2400+ rather than a mobile 2400+ is that the KM2M has very weak overclocking features (AFAIK), so the unlocked multiplier is sort of overkill.
However, the mobile XP 2400+ *does* have 256KB extra L2 cache at the expense of 200MHz clock speed... decisions, decisions!
The reason I'm using the KM2M is that I still am using some old PC133 memory (512MB SDRAM) - 512MB DDR is just too expensive right now to warrant a complete upgrade. (sigh)
Since the 2400+ has a 266MHz FSB, I assume it should work with my PC133 memory as 266FSB is just 133MHz*2. Currently, I'm using a 1GHz T-bird (200FSB).
Would the 2400+ be a good choice here? What about the mobile 2400+, even though I wouldn't be able to O/C it much?
TIA for suggestions
