Treasury Secretary Mnuchin will probably suffer the same punishment for the contempt of Congress that Obuttholes "Wingman" Holder suffered..........................nothing, nada, zip, zero, zilch not a damn thing.

Too bad for you ass clowns that Holder proved it just doesn't matter at all, isn't it?

I can see where in lieu of providing proof of innocence (because there simply ain't any to be had) Trump and his lackeys have decided on a strategy of delaying the inevitable whilst attacking the Rule of Law and the processes of gov't as political partisan attacks against a legitimate sitting president who has *heh* already been completely exonerated of all charges.

End game-wise, methinks they see martyrdom, defiance against the establishment as cover, cleansing via lies, innuendo, rumor mongering (IOW the usual style of GOP campaigning) and the resultant "righteous" resurrection of party going into 2020.

The dem leadership needs to either do their fucking jobs or hand over control to the younger reps who have nothing to lose and will follow through...

Stop worrying about the GD court of public opinion and start enforcing our laws and in particular the Constitution...

Obama claimed executive privilege at the time & Holder obeyed his boss. Trump can't claim executive privilege here.

It is frankly unbelievable to me that anyone would think that Trump has bribes listed on his tax returns.
What you actually want is a public audit, with a complete paper trail. I don't see that happening as the public has no right to the information, and most wouldn't understand it. I've read at least two articles where the author want's to see Trumps tax returns so they could find out his net worth. There is no where on a 1040 where that information is listed.
When those returns are made public, and they will be made public one way or another, they will generate far more questions than answers.
So the brain worms really dug in, eh?

King Donnie will claim executive privilege...and protect his toady.

He can do whatever he wants, even when it's nonsensical. Trump can't claim executive privilege over events that transpired before he became President. It's going to court, anyway, unless Mnuchin knuckles under.

You really put some thought into that response.
Have you ever filled out a 1040? If so, tell me the line number where net worth is listed. Do you have any grasp of the supporting documents involved? Do you think people involved in criminal activity list the income made as criminal activity? Do you understand how real estate is deprecated and how that can be a net loss on your taxes while still making substantial profits from that real estate? Has it occurred to you that the IRS (a branch of the federal government) is already auditing Trumps taxes and that they actually have some knowledge of how the tax system works?
You've jumped on a band wagon and you hope it's going where you want, without realizing that it goes in a circle.
Trumps tax returns will be released, either by Trump, or more likely leaked by an IRS employee or a congressional staffer. They will be picked apart by a bunch of people that don't have a clue, and a few that know what they're doing. Without all of the supporting documentation, they will tell us almost nothing, other than Trump isn't near as rich as he claims.

Remember guys, it’s totally unnecessary to know who is putting money in the president’s pocket. It’s really none of our business.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/19/business/deutsche-bank-trump-kushner.html

Anti-money laundering specialists at Deutsche Bank recommended in 2016 and 2017 that multiple transactions involving legal entities controlled by Donald J. Trump and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, be reported to a federal financial-crimes watchdog.

It absolutely has to go to court.

It doesn’t have to, Mnuchin could just follow the absolutely plain text of the statute. He’s going to lose in court and everyone knows it, it’s just a stalling tactic to try and run out the clock on congressional investigations.

I don’t see how anyone could ever vote for a Republican in any election after this. They are fighting tooth and nail to stop congress from finding out if the president is committing crimes while in office.

What I am asking is what do you thing should happen if he is held in contempt and he says the feeling is mutual. I was referring to ignoring a contempt order. How do you think he could or should be made to comply if he shines the court on like he has Congress?

A fine or jail time, same as in every other contempt case. In this particular matter, Mnuchin might actually have a leg to stand on, that's why it needs to go to court. This is a congressional fishing expedition, everyone involved knows they won't find 1099's from Putin, what they're looking for is something to use politically. Since most people have no concept of how tax law works, it's vary easy to make perfectly legal deductions appear sinister. The last bit that was released was a perfect example. It showed tremendous losses, and I only heard one single commentator explain how it was possible to have huge paper losses and still make a profit.

While the idea that there is income from criminal activity listed on Trumps 1040 is absurd, he should release the information because he said he would. That statement makes the entire issue Trumps creation, and it's the only compelling reason to demand they be released.

Do you believe Trump could explain or understand his own tax returns or has read one completely even though he signs them?

You are jumping way ahead to "criminal activity." I think the American people have a right to know exactly who is paying their politicians and how much. Do you disagree?
