mmx900 vs. mmx700... is there THAT much difference???

Has anyone used both of Logitech's mmx700 & 900 wireless mice by any chance?

If so, is the 900 so much better that it's worth the $80.00 (USD) hike-up?

I haven't used both, but I doubt the MX900 is better.
I scrolled through the Logitech Discussion Forum before, they had people there that thought the MX900 was in fact inferior to the MX500/700.

I think the hike-up has more to do with it being the highest model, and that the base doubles as a Bluetooth receiver.

I swear that CompUSA sells the mmx700 & keyboard Duo with a receiver in the box...

Check out this page and scroll down to "In the Box".

Whaddya think?

As someone who went from an MX700 to an MX900, I can tell you that the MX900 is just as responsive as the mx700, except when coming out of sleep mode or idle, then it takes about 4 seconds to re-sync w/ the bluetooth hub. But as far as range, my MX700 worked about 6' away... the MX900 is guaranteed to 30', and mine works anywhere in the room, I love it. Same goes for the Bluetooth elite keyboard vs. the wireless elite keyboard.

If it's important to you to have that kinda range, go for the MX900. I'm using it w/ an HTPC, so the range is neccessary. Otherwise, don't waste your money.

how about reviews I heard about the poor finishing of the MX700?
especially where your fingers are placed... heard that it discolors badly..

is the MX900 having the same kind of finishing?

just got mine this afternoon,

I must say its heavy, and I've trouble adjusting to the weight while gaming.

the finishing on my mx700 is wearing away where i rest my palm

and with regards to weight, you will get used to it, it also helps to get a good mouse pad like fUnc sUrface 1030 or Ratpad
