About a year ago or so I tried the game. If I remember right, the reason I didn't play again was that the game would not allow me to reassign keyboard game bindings. Is that the situation?

The game looked to be fun, but I hated the key bindings.

While I've only changed one key, it seems a little bit customizable.

There is a voice communication key that I couldn't move, just don't remember what I was trying to move it to. Ctrl or mouse button.
 
It'll be interesting to see what happens when they introduce the nerfs.. err... changes to penetration of the big tanks and increase the penetrations for mediums in the next patch. Even more gold being spammed is my prediction.
 
Just had the best game in my T37 yet. Managed to get Ace Tanker with it. Figured it was worth reviving this thread for 🙂

Just got a Dumitru's Medal.

What is that? It's this:
Awarded for destroying four enemy self-propelled artillery in one battle, with a tank or tank destroyer. Unavailable in Clan Wars.

I had no idea there were 5 artillery in the game until I got hit by one when trying to flank the T29 West group. Then I went all in with HE.

Didn't do enough damage on the 1st SPG Hummel, but second, third and fourth and fifth SPG died in my hands. 🙂

I asked this question, and it was partially answered several weeks ago...

I tried this game last year, liked it but detested the key bindings. I tried to change them and was unable to do it.

Are the KB bindings changeable in some way?

As far as I know, all key assignments can be changed. I do not think there are any reserved keys.
 
Anyone do any sort of Core 2 Duo upgrades for this game with good results?Got a spare rig i use for platooning with my buddy and the E5200 in there works alright but a cheap $20 E8600 or $35 Q9450 may do wonders.

Thinking the E8600 would be the best considering its faster overall clockspeeds and WOT is mostly still single threaded.Thoughts guys?

Rest of the rig consists of 6gb of ram,a ssd and a 9500gt which works for my resolution and settings.🙂

Since its single threaded, whichever cpu has the highest clock speed will generally be better for you in WoT.



Also, anyone else pretty much quit playing this summer? Haven't had the urge to even open the game up after work. These losing streaks really took a toll on me.

That is one of my worries about playing the game so much. Easily 12-14 hours on weekends and 4-6 on weekdays when there is no GF around. I think I have of the effects of it going on or I'm just tired of playing the same tanks (the ones I'm advancing to next tier). And those are now the 150-200k xp tanks to tier 9.

I upgraded my E7400 to the E8600. Never really benchmarked either, but can't really tell the difference. Still have the 7400 is you want a cheap upgrade.
 
Anyone else think the E-25 mission is way too easy? I only have Tier 7 and think it is easy, much less people with tier X. Starting to see a bunch of morons running around with them not knowing how to use them.
 
Sadly? I am done with this game in the forseeable future. I *might* play it again sometime, but it just made me rage too much. I didn't have fun platooning. I didn't have fun playing my beloved KV-2. I just didn't have fun anymore.

Ended up dropping in a Q6600,runs dramatically better but performance appears to only be good if i keep settings on low which is fine anyways.

Even with the game enjoying a single fast thread,i guess a faster fsb and all that cache really did wonders?The difference is night and day from the E5200.
 
i went from 30-40fps everything low on an i7 965 @ 3.85ghz to
50-100fps everything max on an i7 5960x @ 4ghz

2560x1440 resolution

My E5200 was pretty bad off,constantly in the 30s with peaks to the lower 40s but i dropped into the 20s all the time.The Q6600 i'm constantly in the 50's but once in a while i may drop into the mid 30s but i peak in the 70's now.

I may drop in a E8600 and see how it does,either a few selected games run better on it over the Q6600 or it becomes a keychain.🙂
 
I'm still playing competitively, but not enjoying the game as much as I used to. Maybe because I have nothing left to grind and the game isn't really a challenge anymore... just frustrating when you get one shot by arty while outplaying someone.

Joined Noble, ended this WGLNA season with the top damage/points in the league, and will be going to LA in October for the NA finals. It will be the 4th live tournament for me (China, San Fran, Poland and now LA).

Any of you watch this season on Twitch?
 
Also taking a brake from when my premium ran out. Playing a little WoW, but most of all just trying to play through my unplayed steam games.
 
I've been taking a break as well. Playing some other games (GTAV, MGSV, and some WoWs... got my Iowa Class). Haven't played since July. Will get back into it at some point.
 
yea another reason for a break is my premium ran out, also cw2.0 sucks ass
been playing some tourney's however and watching my credits shrink haha

Good luck, but I am not watching. While the esports wot has vastly improved since the old 7/42 format and asinine tie breaker round, I still find it massively dull. Few new strats, 'dorf still blows, meh.
