Anybody want to do some grouping tonight on the US server, in about 90 min to 2 hrs (~9 EST)? I'll be rolling in my T29 and/or Lowe, looking for a change of pace from going solo.

In Beta I got the turret but I got the BL-9 gun first. I found it very helpful in game. Assuming they havent changed anything I'd say get it but after the gun. It turns much faster and it also adds some HPs too if I remember correctly. Get the R113 Radio last of all. You'll want it for the IS4.

I'd get it. A few extra HPs, about 50% better side armor, 50% faster turn rate.

As someone who just did the very same, I'd say get the turret. It gives you a bit more hp, the faster traverse is nice and the increased side armor hp lets you survive better vs snipers and swarms. The turret is also slightly smaller in profile which makes you harder to hit.

I find the IS-3 to be fairly enjoyable over all, so I'm not in any rush to get into an IS-4.

Also the new voices are horrendous. What were they thinking...?

Had one very memorable battle during the 5x experience weekend in my T32. 10 kills, 80,000 credits and 13,500 experience. Couldn't believe the numbers after the battle ended. Probably could have gotten 11 kills since all that was left on the enemy side was one small arty. But I had something like 2% health left and didn't want to jeopardize a team win.

So far I am really enjoying the American TDs. The gun pivot radius on the T40 is really good so I rarely have to move to aim at someone. I can't wait for the turreted M10 - I just have to remember its not a medium tank!

Very true. This is why I didn't bother getting the IS-3 until I had enough free exp to go straight to the BL-9. Without the extra penetration the 122mm is worthless against everything you're pitted against. Maus, IS-4, hell it'll have some hard times dinging panthers from the front. You're pretty much forced to knife fight until you can get the bl-9, then you become a viable sniper as well.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to tough it out on the SU-152. That derp gun is fun... but the 30 second reload time is killing me. Not to mention I can't snipe for shit.

i grinded the su-152 and isu-152 with the derp gun only, the 122 sucks unless you're matched up against lower tiers, then it owns, but it did not happen that often, i preferred being able to hurt everything i came up against. rammer helps out a little bit, as does a 100% crew, but i usually hung out with another tank so that they could keep firing while i reloaded, i pretty much played very aggressively with the su and isu as ammo costs are low and repairs aren't to bad. i would still earn money if i got 1 shot off and died LOL

stick with the derp, i have a pretty good idea of lead time on moving targets with the derp, that helped a lot. it was accurate for me up to 500 meters away

So I have the KV and KV-3 in my garage. Researched the IS..so hopefully I get those free tanks/slots when the patch hits adding those other KV in.

KV, KV3 I believe. Not sure about the IS-4 and IS-7.

Yup. I'm going to hop on that right away.... time to sell the good ol' su-85 and su-100.

Also, is it true the IS-4 will be losing the S70 (or whatever its gun is called) in a future patch?

Just started playing this I suck really bad, been using the T1 fully upgraded still only got 1 kill out of all my games. What tank should I get next? A medium, SPG, or a TD? I cant get heavy yet, so those are my only choices. Also why is the T18 Tank destroyer cheaper than the T2 medium tank.

I haven't played anything US, but I have shot at plenty of them ^_^

The T1 is pretty meh, but the M6 isn't bad and the T29 seems to be pretty good. The T1 is a really big brick of a target and US tanks in general have crappy hull armor (but good turret armor), so keep your front to the enemy and try to fire while peeking over hills.

Also, kills don't mean much. You get exp based on your overall damage done, not your killcount. A high killcount means you are one or a combination of a few things: a "kill stealer," lucky, and/or seriously outclassing everyone and one-shotting everything in sight. I once had a 9 kill game, but I was an SU 26 with a 122mm howitzer and the heaviest thing on the field was a panzer III. It was amusing, but I didn't get much more money or experience than I did in games where I got one kill but was plinking away at KVs the entire time.

If you want to get better, try being a TD for a while. You'll get a lot better, die nonstop, or possibly both. If you need a break from the frustration, get an SU 26 (russian arty, t3). Arty is relatively stress-free, and the 26 has a turret that makes changing targets painless. Most games as a su26 basically boil down to you playing whack-a-mole on anything that gets spotted, and its high-end gun (with the 150credit/shot ammo) will keep up with T1s and KVs pretty well.

The T1 I liked alot better than the M6.

Realistically the M6 is worse because the armor is more or less the same. It has the same tall profile. It's put into worse matchmaking situatations due to its higher Tier. It only gets to go from horrible to "Meh" once you unlock the 90mm gun.


The T1 isn't bad once you get the upgraded 76mm(?) because it has a VERY high fire rate. Especially combined with a rammer. Use your taller profile to hide behind rocks and other tanks since you can shoot over them.

Thx for the advice guys, this game is awesome! I'm actually addicted to it, I can't stop playing. I'm getting better and better, I manage to rake up a bunch of kills each game, and I do a helluva lot of damage to others, can't wait to upgrade to my next tank!

Psssst, I think he means the Cunningham and not the heavy T1.

If you want some kills, go with the TD line. Early TDs can hurt/kill whatever they are facing but they can not take the damage. My absolute favorite purchase is still the Marder II, I will eventually rebuy that tank when half slots purchase comes back.

What do you guys put on the lowe? I have a gun rammer right now and I'm thinking of spall liner and vertical stabalizer (it can use the stabalizer right?)

Seems like this tank gets a lot of HE shells thrown its way because of its sloped armor....

Some people on the EU Forum commented. They like the guide but some prefer to use the Coated Optics or the Vertical Stabiliser for Sight and FoTM capabilities respectively.

I love my spall because I feel like an Arty magnet and I angle my armour to make many of the bigger tanks bounce.

Already have the rammer. Ventilation is the next item I am buying for the Lowe, it increases the entire crews levels. Then I'll probably get the spall liner, or maybe the optics.
