Anyone know much about this? I thought it was free to play junk until I saw it for preorder on Amazon. Website doesn't tell much...especially interested in PvP.
Yah i can't see myself getting into a MMO right now, so many great ones (hopefully) on the horizon not worth the time/month investment.
Looking forward to Guild wars 2 and Planetside Next big time.
No telling how it will end up, but it is a historically based MMO, which does make it a bit different than the usual fantasy run of the mill background.
Is Rift worth playing now knowing I'll stop when SW TOR comes out?
Given that it might be well into 2012 before SWTOR comes out, it's probably worth at least a cursory look. They currently have free 7-day trials -- while you won't get a feel for end-game content, 7 days is more than enough time to get a general idea about the game and there are some great low-level dungeons that will give you a good flavor for group content as well.
Hm, I thought the 7 day trial was only if invited by a current player, I'll have to check it out.
Are there any disadvantages based on getting the game through Rift's website or through Steam? I'm beginning to love Steam as not to have to keep gay disks piled up.
I am really looking forward to an MMO shooter. Planetside Next and Tribes Universe sound interesting. But PS Next got delayed, is it worth it to play Planetside 1 right now?
Also, are there any other MMO shooters out right now? Other than WW2 OL which I don't like too much. Which reminds me. Slow running and no jumping is part of why I don't like it; what kind of running and jumping did Planetside have?
Well, once SOE comes back online it might be. The population might take a hit that only Planetside Next can bring to the table.
There is no bunny hopping in Planetside. You won't see players jump up and down in the game due to your stamina. Everytime you jump or activate your implants, your stamina drains. If it gets too low, you can't sprint and must rest to get your stamina back up.
