While running errands today, I stopped by an Amish baked goods stand on the way back from taking the garbage to the dump.

It was soooo hard to choose..
fresh fudge? (8 or so varieties)
brownies?
pie?

The shoefly pie was soooo tempting. But, I realized that despite its goodness, it was still sickeningly sweet. Plus, I was low on cash and oddly, the Amish don't take debit cards (go figure :) ) So the brownies won. I had forgotten how good home-made goodies (from scratch) were, compared to pre-mix, just add water to the powder in a box stuff that I've gotten used to.

A lot of the Amish people are pretty awesome - haven't met someone I didn't like yet. However, as someone who bikes on the road quite a bit, I have to agree with you on that one about the horse residue.
