The so-called "merger of equals" will create the fifth-largest brewer in the world with combined sales of 51 million U.S. barrels. The combined company will be called Molson Coors Brewing Co.

Coors (NYSE: RKY) now ranks as the third-largest brewer in the United States with an 11 percent market share. Montreal-based Molson (TSX: MOL.A) is the largest brewer in Canada with a 43 percent market share.

The two companies have combined sales of $6 billion.

Now i can no longer drink Molson. That sucks. I like molson.

<---boycotts Coors Brewing Company for buying the company that imports Caffrey's Irish Ale and ceasing all importing of Caffrey's because it "competes" with Killians Red.

I've got empty boxes of Coors & Molson sitting next to each other in the cubboard closet. Maybe that was some sort of weird beer ESP.

There's nothing wrong with Coors Light on a hot day and you don't want to drink too heavy.

I think this is pretty interesting, Molson really is putting the screws to Labbatts.
Wonder if they'll merge the product line or stay seperate?

Or maybe you've got enough empty boxes of beer in there that ANY merger could have happened and you could have said the same thing? :p

cant believe this has to happen. A canadian beer company has to merger with a US company to survive...this must be a lie.

Molson has a great lineup of beers from canadian to the famous EXPORT (their best brew) It is a shame in Canadian history this has to happen and a slap in the face to Canadian beer..

Long live Canada and its beer cuz its the best beer in the world!!!
