Boy do I have some stories about that subject!:D

....In my early 20s, before I got married. My Best Friend, Ben, was quite the scotch drinker. We almost always played cards on Saturday night and I started bringing Southern Comfort. Always loved the stuff and mixed it heavy...half and half with Coke.

One night Ben tried a tumbler full and thought it was great! Little sweet, but hey, lets split a bottle! I calmly warned him about how it sneaked up on you. Well, I had to work this Saturday night. Evidently he cracked open the bottle himself!:(

I came home to find him semi-comotose on the couch. It seems the neighbors carried him in!:) He'd been sitting in the front yard talking to everyone that happened by.:)

He did not move until late Sunday afternoon. Woke up wondering where his pants were as they had his payckeck in them. We looked everywhere! Finally found them behind the front door! He was hurt!:(

25 years later and he has NEVER indulged in Southern Comfort a second time! .....more stories....;)

I had some good times with Southern Comfort when I was younger, but it always gave me a hell of a hangover.:( Nowadays I stick to Wild Turkey and Coke every once in awhile.:)

Tominator, I (oddly enough) have a similar story, except it's about me. Let me preface this by saying that I am not an alcoholic, I did drink often in college but not that much anymore.

When I was in college at a small school, I visited a friend at a state school. His fraternity was having a huge party. There were probably more people at this party than there were undergrads at my school.

Anyways, I decided that I was going to try to finish a fifth of SoCo that night. I was pretty much a heavy binge drinker at the time, and I guess I figured, "what the heck?", even though I had never drank that much before.

I drank the first half of the bottle in about half an hour, before they even opened up the party to the general public. I was just taking huge swigs off of it (it sure went down easy!) and running around with the bottle in my pocket. I continued just guzzling it after the party started and there were tons of people there. Needless to say, that night I was drunker than I ever have been before then or since. My memories of the rest of the night are vague at best.

I actually got kicked out of this party with several thousand people there. I am a pretty big guy and apparently I was just stumbling around running into people and trying to have conversations with strangers (normally I'm pretty shy). One of my other friends lived nearby and he started to help me home. Meanwhile, the bottle of SoCo was not quite empty and I was apparently quite determined to finish it. My friend was trying to take it away from me (one good reason is that we were walking down a public street) but I apparently would not let him. Eventually, I managed to break the bottle across my leg. Fun times! :(

Furthermore, as we were walking away from the fraternity house, I kept trying to run back to the party until my friend eventually had to just tackle me to keep me from running in that direction.

The next thing I remember is waking up in my friend's extra bedroom the next morning, not knowing where I was. I got up and walked to the window, and imagine my surprise when I realized I was on the second floor. I had never blacked out while conscious like that before. Quite an experience.
The worst part of it is, they only let 1/3 as many guys as girls into this party. I do remember walking across the dance floor and having girls grab my butt (not a common occurrence). By getting so out-of-my-mind wasted, I most likely missed out on some nookie. :):|:)

Amazingly, I never threw up and my hangover was not that bad. I was able to eat and everything, I just had a headache. I was also a little sore from being tackled in the street. I don't think I have actually ever had SoCo since then, and I used to drink it all the time.

The moral of the story is: Do NOT drink that much alcohol at once, but ESPECIALLY not that much Southern Comfort!!!

It was 80, thank goodness. 100 and I would have been in the hospital. Kinda scary either way. :(

Ugh. Bad experience with SoCo 100 proof and smoking a cuban cigar. Result was NOT pretty.

The things you do as a freshman in college. Man. I could write a book on that year alone.

Bad experience with Southern Comfort and cigars too. I abstract-painted the stairs all the way to my parents 2nd-floor appartment at 18 on that stuff. Got a hell of a speech from my dad the next day.

Weird... I am not a drinker (too the point of total drunkness), although one night I had a micky of SoCo. I was playing U0 with my friend and I never had a hangover or a headache... I don't even know if I was drunk. That is the most I ever drank and I didn't know what to expect. I had a neat buzz and I got really tired, that was about it.

Anyways... going to a party tonight, gonna pick me up some SC :), btw I like Wild Turkey too.
