Fresh out of the dehydrator, about 12oz of beefy goodness. This is the "spicy" batch, the teryaki batch is in right now. Don't worry about the cud, it tears right off.
To be honest, that's not too far off from my recipe. I used Worcestershire, black pepper, crushed red pepper, salt, brown sugar and soy sauce, and a bottom round roast (which is why there's so much cud on it).
Second batch finished up at midnight, which is surprising. They recommend 10-12 hours, but that took about 6.5 hours. Of course I did have it sliced a bit thin too.
The spicy one is indeed pretty spicy. Next time more brown sugar. But even my son liked it, or so he said.
Total haul was 1lb. 2oz. for a total price of $9.21 plus maybe $1 or $2 worth of spices/sauces. $9/lb for jerky. I'm happy.
