Lately, I've been loving Munchos more and more. Is this wrong? I mean, they're not really potato chips, but they are SO GOOD.

I can't even fill up at the gas station without picking up one of those 99 cent Big Grab bags of them.

And the salt. Mmmm.... They make the beer taste soooo good.

Munchos is God.

BS. They still make Dark Russet. Just bought a bag this weekend.

Buy a case online if your local supermarket doesn' sell them anymore: http://capecodpotatochips.com/store/Product.asp?pid=24

Of course, if your supermarket LIES to you and tells you that they're not made anymore, you might want to shop elsewhere anyways.

nope, they stopped making them. I emailed CapeCod. If you found them, it's just left over stock. BTW, if you check their website, they no longer have the Dark Russet. They now have one called Robust Russet

here is the email

We have changed the russets - there will be no more dark or golden - they will all be robust russets. The problem starts with the growing season and Mother Nature - if she give too much or not enough rain, sun, heat, etc. the potato make up changes. With the russets we try to change the starch to sugar so the sugar will brown up. The russets are not cooked longer than the white potato chips - they actually cook a little faster. The past couple of years we have not been able to get the russet to behave (like trying to control the weather). We get Golden Russets that are white or we get them too dark. We also get the Dark Russets too light (not many people complain about them being too dark). So marketing and production got together with the farmers and came up with the robust russets - this should let us have a bit more control over the russet potatoes. Please let me know if I can be of any more help. Thank you.

BASTARDS!!!!

Oh well... I'm sure I'll love the Robust Russets just as much. I've been eating them since before Lance bought the company, back when they were Eagle Snacks.

Maybe I should pick up all of the bags of Dark Russet I saw at Albertsons and sell them for $5 each! :)

Speaking of discontiued product......... I had to go WAY IN THE DEPTHS of the Frito-Lay website to find Munchos. I wonder if they're cutting them. I used to LOVE Chilli & Cheese Fritos and they killed that product off too. :(

I hear ya. I was kicking myself when I didn't buy out the entire stock of 5.5oz bags when Biglots had them for 99 cents.
