That's usually an indicator that they aren't ripe enough.

Let them sit for a couple of days so the skin gets a bit more red. Once they're a bit mushy...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

thats the thing.. I dont like mushy (too ripe) mangoes, where Im from the mangoes are VERY sweet while it is not too soft!! also we have lots of varieties....

Same here in Indiana. The produce sucks at all of our local stores. Except for the corn.

Watermellons are $9.99! We were watermellon farmers on the side in Mississippi, so that's crazy to me. They're small here too. Like ten pounds max.

Anyway, I love mangoes, dried and fresh.
