I bought an MP3 player (Rio Carbon) back in October for the sole purpose of ripping out the drive, and I paid $170 for it on the FS/T forums here. I'm not sure exactly what the average write speeds were, though I believe it was around 6-7MB/sec if I remember the specifications correctly. I haven't really tried to test it though, it's plenty fast for my uses. 🙂
 
Cool, I was planning on ripping one out of the Creative Muvo2 but someone spared me the trouble and did it for me. I got the drive for $110 off of fs/ft.

Damn, I should start browsing FS/FT, that's one hell of a deal.
 
Yeah FS/FT rocks. I'm still reeling over my Palm Tungsten T3 that i got for ~150 in excellent condition, I thought it was a blah deal but I've not been able to find one for under ~190 ebay or otherwise.
