MMC or SD?

My new camera supports both MMC and SD memory types - which should I get? Any advantage to either one? Is one more supported than the other (say I get another camera in the future).. Thanks!

My camera uses both too and I prefer SD cards. Both the Secure Digital and the SansDisk flavors. Both are awesome. Secure Digital will be a slight bit slower as the data is stored in an encrypted form on the card, but both are good.

MMC? Eh, not really worth the price.

No real difference.

SD is what you can say Version 2 of MMC. They just changed the name.

More PDA's use SD though. Quite a lot also use MMC though.

If you get another camera in the future SD will be supported more. SD cards do not sometimes work in a MMC slot. Same with MMC not working in a SD slot though........

What's the purpose of encrypting it though? I mean, is it password protected? I dont' have sensitive data so I don't really need any encryption...

anyone know?

just saves it to an extra chip. SDs have an extra chip than MMC that saves and encrypts the data. Just in case something goes error like. Plus, it's another reason to raise prices.

Think of all those evil people out there desperate to steal your photos! :Q

Over here (UK) MMC is a little bit cheaper....I got MMC...worked fine...I have no use for encryption.

I think SD cards are A LOT faster.

You might want to check up to see if that's true though.
