I just installed the MMC7.5 on my Win98SE machine...
It seems to be working fine. The inteface is very slick.
The only problem i had was with my ATI TV Wonder card. It didn't install the ATI TV program, so I manually installed it using my original set up CD.
It seems to work fine now...

Is this merely a new MultiMedia Center or does it come with newer drivers for a TV-Wonder as well? Secondly, where can I find the MMC alone so I can install it on my TV-Wonder.

Yeah, quick question, does this new MMC work with the stand alone ATI TV Wonder?

Guys, according to post #3, I would guess yes.

Capturing is much better than 7.2, interface is... well i don't really care BUT it does look better. TV looks to be clearer. DVD looks the same... always clear and low cpu. It's nice and stable as well. Nice update! Oh, i'm using an AIW Radeon w/ Windows 2000 Professional

I am still getting 'failed to initialize video errors' with this on my tv wonder. Has anyone gotten their TV Wonder's tv function working in XP?

Creig...

The file can be downloaded here from Subzerotech.com I uninstalled all my old MMC files, then reinstalled the MMC7.5
After rebooting, I did not have the TV wonder installed so I inserted the original setup CD and choose the "Custom Installation" option when prompted, then selected only the TV wonder option... Rebooted... and back in business...

I'm not sure if it will work stand alone for the TV Wonder ( ie. without an ATI video card), because I had to install my old TV wonder drivers.
The new MMC options work with my Radeon LE card (I think??)

Capturing directly to a compressed codec is never a good idea unless you have an insanely powerful system, and even then, it's not a good idea. Capturing has to be done in realtime and even the slightest glitch could cause a frame drop. ATI's software masks this pretty well with buffers and interlacing, but the quality of its capture is nothing to speak of. The only reason I would use MMC is to watch TV. Capturing is a job much more suited to something like VirtualDub with the Huffyyuv compression (low compression, near uncompressed quality, doesn't take up much CPU power and still saves some space), then converting to whatever format you'd like. As far as I'm concerned, ATI's capturing software is useless.

Also, .wmv can be decoded by Pinnacle Studio SE and encoded into almost avi or mpeg/mpeg2. I think Ulead MediaStudio does it as well.

Also, are these merely the a new version of MMC or do new capture drivers come with them as well?
