What is your opinion about the ATI Multimedia center 7.2 and the DVD player 5.0 in Windows XP?

I purchased a new acer dvd player and got a full (Win xp version 3.0) of Win DVD for free. What is your opinion about WinDVD, is the software any good, it claims to be "the worlds most popular DVD player". With ATI DVD I have problems running the dutch version of the movie The Watcher.

Does anyone use MMC, I got a new Audigy player with already gives me al lot of better software in the sound departement.

Also in Xp, when I go to configuration and I click the Ati Multi Media Center icon i get the following message: Rundll
"Er is een uitzondering opgetreden tijdens het uitvoeren van shell32.dll,Contorl_Rundll"C:\Windows\System32\MMCpl.cpl"ATI Multimedia Center"

The first words are Dutch and the translation is: There has been an exception during the execution of shell32.dll ....

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO don't do it. Well my experience with Ati DVD 5.0 would be me having to format my computer. After installing it on XP Professional, I heard an echo for every sound that happened. I couldn't get rid of it. Uninstalled it. Uninstalled sound card drivers. It just.. it was horrible. So I just uninstalled it. It also screwed up my ATI TV Wonder... it was crazy crap.

I'd just use Power DVD 4.0 XP, or Win Dvd 3.0 works fine. I mean it's all relatively the same thing.

I'm using MMC 7.5 that includes DVD 5.0. It works fine. I haven't tested DVD 5.0 on its own however. I have never used PowerDVD 4.0XP, but the consensus is that it's better than ATI's player. Better in what respect I don't know. But earlier PowerDVD players seemed to have more options (i.e. emulated 3D surround sound from two speakers) - right now I just want a basic solution so I use ATI's player.

Works fine on my rig, but I prefer MMC 7.5, it would be worth finding the download. I use ATI 5 with DVD's and I find it excellent, I also use Power DVD 4.0 and I can't say either one is better or worse actually, video IQ is excellent with both, both are very feature rich, since the ATI player is free with your card, it gets my nod.

I installed DVD Player 5.0 on my XP Home Edition, but I just use Windows Media Player 8 to play the DVD's, which utilitizes the decoder from DVD Player 5.0. Works great, not a hitch.
