I have a digital video camera, MMC 7.1, all the latest drivers, divx 4.11, and a Radeon DDR 64mb. (u can check my rig for more detail)
I have several questions regarding recording and editing video onto my computer.

1) How do i record sound along with the video???
2) How much space does a 1 minute video at 640x480 take up?
3) What software ought I use to edit video?
4) Can I compress the video on the fly into divx, or do I need to do that seperately?

I'll help you as much as I can; but there's a lot of variables in your questions.

1. As far as recording sound/video, you need capture/editing software. I have an AIW Radeon that came with Ulead's VideoStudio which is pretty good. I looked at your rig stats, and just be prepared for a LOT of processing power to edit video. I have a P-4 1.7 and it can be a long process to edit high quality video.

2. That all depends on capture settings (anywhere from a few hundred megs, to a ...a lot. example: a 22 minute Simpsons episode captured at MPEG-2 high quality takes about 1.5 gigs of space).

3. refer to 1.

4. Unless you have MAJOR CPU horsepower, you'll have to do it separatly. Give it a try.

Good Luck.
