Marting Luther King was a great man. His memory (like Ghandi's) shall always stand for peace and the fight of tyranny.

Why is it that Martin Luther King Blvd/St/Dr/etc is alwasy the worst street in town?

If you ever get lost and find yourself on a street named after MLK, take a right and hit the gas.

I don't know that it is, but, it certainly seems like MLK is the most used name for a roadway in the US. I agree with the above, I've done a fair amount of traveling and I've yet to see a MLK blvd that is in a "nice" area.... I'm sure there are a couple, but, I've yet to see one.

Wow, a double. The Courthouse is usually a good place to stay away from also. :)

I live here in the ATL, and I can say as a matter of fact, that the MLK center is surrounded by the ghetto (NE of Turner Field).

Uh, I think "Main Street" and "First Street" probably trounce MLK as a street name 50 times over.

In NYC it's in the heart of Harlem.

another thing thats ironic about MLK day. He fought so that people can be educated and heavily supported education and yet on the day that we celebrate his birthday we have a day off of education. he must be rolling in his grave.

"yet on his birthday we have a day off of education."

MLK's birthday is January 15th. MLK day is in honor of his birthday, but generally does not fall on the same day as his real birthday.

MLK blvd in Baltimore is the one that takes you into the downtown area from I-95. I haven't been too far down it but i don't think that it is too bad of a street.

When I lived in Augusta Georgia, MLK St. was so crime ridden they gave up even repairing it. It was so dilapidated, parts of it had reverted to dirt road. When the sporting goods store I worked for had a smash and grab, the cops would look for our stuff on MLK, and 6 times out of 10 found it being sold out the trunk of a car for crack or money for crack.
