This has been my first year of subscribing ( I paid the full price ) and I gotta say, it's awesome.

Blackouts are a PITA; I had to subscribe to unblock-us to get around that ... that's another $5/month.

But all told, the quality of the streams are excellent and being able to watch all the games ( from either teams broadcast ) is wicked sweet.

Wait I'm confused about what you subscribed to in order to unblock you from the local blackouts? I have the MLB radio but not this, $50 is rather tempting...

I subscribed to ( what I believe is a ) 'proxy server' service.
Essentially, when my computer makes a request to MLB, the proxy server makes the request on my behalf.

Normally,
Oakland, Ca. ----> MLB.TV ( They won't let me watch Oakland A's )

With proxy service ( unblock.us ),
Oakland, Ca. ---> unblock.us [Canada] --> MLB.TV ( thinks i'm from Canada, allows me to watch A's )

It should be noted that this only works from my PC; evidently they've gotten tougher with their app on the smartphone.

A warning on quality, the video streams are hit and miss. I had great quality last year, but this year has been terrible. I can't make it through a whole game without it dropping down to low quality.

It is nice to see games and it comes with free audio streaming as well which is never blacked out. Just be prepared for less than HD quality and their support will blame your connection no matter what you do to show you're getting > 30Mbps from servers near theirs.

On my desktop, I've probably watched 50 games this season, and they've all been HD.
This is my first year with the service, and I've actually been surprised that the games have consistently looked so good.

On my phone, it's hit and miss. But I blame Sprint for that.
