About time. They finally modernized the game. Now they need to implement the DH for the national league.

meh

The only thing that would get me to watch MLB is if they made it full contact. Like the 3rd base coach gets a free run at the pitcher every at bat and the basemen can throw elbows to get the runners off base.

Baseball sucks.

More time to get beer/food. Ok by me!

Either you get baseball or you don't. I don't think MLB has a popularity problem currently.

I think you mean remove the DH from the AL.

Why do you want to see .100 - .200 hitters with 50% SO rates in the game?

And this is good. But they need to speed up the game. Something like a shot clock from the time the pitch hits the catcher's mit to the pitcher's next delivery. Maybe 20-25 seconds.

This would be an amazing thing. The only thing selig has stood against more than replay is keeping rose out of the hall.

Eh, still better than watching soccer. But then again, so is watching paint dry.

But... but... but... I thought the human error element was one of the endearing things about baseball? Because people just love to watch blatantly screwed up calls.

More replay is awesome and overdue. Managers with challenge flags is a stupid way to do it though.

Could we go back and give that guy from the Tigers his perfect game?

Using HQ to make the determination is how the NHL does it. So it's like the NFL with the "challenges" and it's like the NHL by having a centralized command center making the final call. It goes quite quick in the NHL...hopefully it's as quick with MLB.

Yeah NHL replay is awesome. It's much quicker than the NFL or at least it feels that way.

I agree with whomever mentioned a pitch clock; would really help move things along.

The owners benefit from longer games. More soda, beer and goodies sold to people who came to a ballgame and ended up celebrating their birthday.

That makes it more of a snooze fest.

no it doesn't. If anything, the original rules shorten the game. When you have a DH in, you have more opportunity to drag the at-bat out longer, more people on base, quicker outs, etc. You've also got more potentials for bunts and weird wacky strategy. So, again, less boring than the AL.

calling the DH a "better product" assumes that baseball suffers from too little offense. That, of course, is fucking absurd.

Not if you're a fan of the SF Giants
