Mets rotation besides Pedro isn't much of a concern. But the Marlins on the other hand... Willis, Beckett, and Burnett is very scary. Braves pitching is doing good, Hampton in his first two games is pitching like he did back in his prime with the Astros. Hopefully he can keep it up.

Larry Jones along with Brian Jordan and Pat Burrell are Met Killers... hopefully that wont continue this season.

does anyone think that it's possible the mets are for real? Philly is at best #2 or #3 in the division. the braves, well, this really could be the year they don't win the division. the Marlins, they are ok, but i'm not sure they have the offense, the Nationals, well, like the Expos of old they will fade after the all star break.

it's obvious the Mets bats are going to be pretty decent, Pedro is looking like Pedro in his prime.

still too early to tell consistency but they have been a hitting machine so far... even with Piazza below par.

They are reportedly still after Trachsel's replacement...

Ishii has been pretty good.

as to the hitting, it wasn't unexpected. it's not like they are getting spectacular performances, most of them, Floyd, Wright, Matsui, Reyes, Beltran are really just hitting what they are perfectly capable.

In order for the Mets to be successful both Reyes and Matsui need to be on base alot more often. Reyes looks healthy and is hitting well but the kid has NO WALKS. He needs some more plate discipline. Matsui has awful range at second but at least Cairo is there to save the day if anything. Wright will get better and I really like Victor Diaz's bat even if he is ...well.. shaky at best in the outfield.

The starting pitching has been fine so far and Pedro has been Pedro. Looper still scares the crap outta me but Heath Bell just came up from the minors and he is throwing 96mph which is very nice...future closer??

Floyd has to stay healthy as does Piazza. Doug Mientkiewicz is solid on the field and surprisingly good at the plate..much better than I expected so far.

One thing about the NL East so far as of this post.. not one team is under .500! No other division is like that at the moment. Should be good fun this season.

I don't think there's anything more beautiful than a Cliff Floyd homerun swing to right field. POW.

Nah Marlins - Great Pitching, Very Good Offense. Braves - Great Pitching, Bad Offense. Mets - Mediocre Pitching (besides Pedro), Good Offense. Phillies - Mediocre Pitching, Decent Offense. Nationals - Decent Pitching, Decent Offense. I think talentwise Marlins are the best, but until the Braves are dethroned I'll go with the Braves.

If only he could stay on the field for a full season....

Nice win for the Mets and great pitching by Glavine. Ishii is on the DL and his spot is up tomorrow so who knows who will pitch. Some bad weather on the way so I think the Mets are praying for a rainout.

Zambroken f'n sucks. I'm sick of hearing all the "he's got great stuff!!" crap everyone spews out. No he doesn't. He stinks and is at best a #5 pitcher. He's trash and that trade is the worst move the Mets have made in years.

Kazmir gives up only 1 earned run against the RED SOX in 7 innings a couple of days ago if anyone noticed.

Its still early and the Mets could come back but I already had my fill of Zambroken and his overrated stuff.

thanks to you, everytime Zambrano's name is mentioned ANYWHERE, I think Zambroken. Thanks a lot.

I did see the highlights of Kazmir's effort against the Sox... there's no doubt we would've been better off with him... he looks like a great pitcher... despite his stats, but we have to keep sane somehow... the he-sucks-too watch is on. As far as Mets fans are concerned, he needs to be the great white hype.

Mets won the world seires in 1986,
and 1969.

If the Cubs don't win this year,it would be nice to see the Mets beat the Yankees,
for a neat Subway series. :)

Miraculously, I saw it happen once this year already! They will continue to run on him until he can prove he can throw people out. I think his % is something ridiculous like under 30%.

Can you imagine... any single for the opposing club, you're thinking you're gonna be getting 2 bags out of it...
