Yanks did a nice job the second half. They didn't hire any mercenaries (well..Clemens but he barely did anything), no big name trades..etc..they infused their team with their best prospects and almost won the division.

The Mets deserve any flak they get and fans can't say a word.

i read an interesting take on it in a different forum, maybe Reyes is learning too much from henderson, because he is starting to act like him, missing plays, not thinking about the situation and just getting by on pure talent

I think Rickey made him more aggressive on the bases but he doesn't work with him on hitting. At least I don't think so. Some say that Reyes hasn't truly been the same since Willie benched him in Houston. I have a hard time believing that.

I guess the pressure is off now its out of their hands.....

10-0 up and Maine currently has a no-hitter through 6 striking out 12

Could have done with this a few days ago guys......

Maine was awesome today and the Mets bats were alive. Tempers were flaring big time with Reyes and Olivo jawing at each other. Olivo had enough and charged at Reyes only to get kicked out. Reyes also didn't run out balls TWICE which is really annoying. WISE UP JOSE!

The Nats beat the Phils so both teams are tied with one game left in the season. This is it folks! Destiny is in the hands of both teams. Mets should just concentrate and win their game. Tom Glavine who has been bad his last two starts needs to step it up!!! Dontrelle did well against the Mets so hopefully this time the Mets bats will get to him.

Lets go Mets!

I've been at every game in this home-stand except Mondays & I ALMOST didn't go today because I'd about given up hope after the bats went to sleep again last night, but my god what a game today ... one things for sure is the Mets never make it easy!!!

Tied for first never felt so good & it may well be that this was just the wake-up call the team needed ... now if only Willie is smart enough to catch Castro tomorrow & Reyes can get his head out of the clouds I think we have a good chance!

one hundred and sixty-one games....thats a big 1---6----1 and there are still 4 teams competing for 2 spots with 1 game left....I have never been a bigger Nats and Brewers fan!!!!!

Reading some of the comments of Ramirez & Olivo after the game are very entertaining, they seem to think they are real hard men.

Interesting to see what happens today, hopefully Mets will not rise to anything....just win the game guys.....we do not need any ejections today.

wow What a horrific start for Tom Horrific. Way to step up Tommy! Not sure what to say. The fool can't even get out of the first damn inning. Only recorded one god damn out. pathetic!! Good riddance.

Worst pitching performance by a Mets starter I have EVER seen. Go fuck yourself Glavine.

Anyone think Willie will be canned? Not sure what they'll do but with this team having the grand ol' distinction of having one of the worst end of season collapses in history (they lost a 7 game lead in the standings TWICE in september) I could see the Mets try to clean house so they can start fresh for next season. Someone will take the heat. Omar deserves blame as well as many players. I could see all the coaches canned except for Peterson.

Ah well..who knows. Lets see what if anything happens on monday.

Loved how they mailed it in after the third inning. What a bunch of losers. Time to clean house!

In 1999 the Mets and Braves were in the NLCS and the third baseman for the Mets, Robin Ventura hit a grand slam to win it. Problem is that he was mobbed by his mates before he touched second base so they call it a grand slam single. lol Very silly.
