MLB Fans: Tale of two pitchers

Maddux has always been just a bit better than Glavine,, but this season, the first one in a long time that neither pitched for the braves, Maddux will end up with 15+ wins AGAIN and glavine will be lucky to win 10. more likely he will finish with 8 wins.

is the reason for madduxs continued success more because he is just flat out better than glavine? or is it because the cubs are just a better club than the mets.

it is still sad how much glavine gave up going to the mets instead of staying with the braves.

had he stayed with the braves, he would probably have at least 10 to 15 more wins right now for his career. which would put him at 270 to 275.

oh well, i guess immortality isn't that important to glavine.

I'd say that maddux is slightly better this year. Innings are identical. Glavine's ERA is slightly better, but Maddux has many more SOs and less BBs.

The wins are definetly because of the Cubs vs the Mets, though.

Its definitely because the Cubs are simply a superior team..BY FAR. As a Mets fan I get to see all the wonderful errors (I think the Mets still lead or at least are up there is team errors) that occur behind Glavine. Some are so ridiculous such as BOTH Cliff Floyd and Mike Cameron losing the ball in the sun (seems to happen when Glavine starts)... then there is Mr. Gold Glove Kaz Matsui who bobbled the ball daily. The look on Glavine's face is priceless sometimes. Then of course there is the car accident... no way Glavine could have predicted the team would be this bad.

Glavine has been pretty poor after the All Star break. Tonight he won versus the Expos, but the start before versus the Pirates he gave up a 7 run lead. Glavine depends on catching the corners of the plate. If he can't get the corners as well as the umpire's call then he's dead meat.

I personally never like the signing of Glavine as he is way past his prime ..then again the same can be said for over half the team. ugh... jeez they stink.
