MLB 11 The Show

Ok so I think I am the only one on here that likes this game and I do not see a thread for it. Its one of the best baseball games that I have ever played. One question though, does anyone know to hit the dang ball easier?:\

Yes, change the difficulty. 🙂 The Show batting difficulties go from "OMG TOO REAL" to "Okay, I can play this without getting angry" to "BABY SWING BAT BALL GO FAR"

Seriously though, I found the game much more enjoyable when I toned down the realism a tad on the batting. It was almost impossible (for me) to Create a player and bat over .200 much less actually drive in runs and such in the pressure situations. Even after 3 or more seasons in the pits of AA ball.

I enjoy the game a lot and have picked it up the past 3-4 years. I'd offer to play but y'know with PSN and all... :/

I will try to change my setting, I really like this game and your right I cant seem to bat over .200 in this game. I understand the whole realness but this is ridiculous.

So what on the setting do I need to change to make it easier for me to hit the ball.😀

Change the sliders for Timing Window and Solid Contact. At least that's what I did to lower the frustration I was feeling. I moved the Timing Window up a notch or two and the Solid Contact up two or three notches.

Ok so I changed my setting to be able to hit better in this game, but I'm still having issues, maybe I suck. Damn I mean what do I got to do to hit a damn ball. I play for a AA team and its not even that hard in real life lol.

You have the basic hitting skill level at rookie, right? The hitting is definitely harder than previous years because your Vision rating appears to carry much more significance this year. Also, are you going with Analog swinging?

I tried switching back to timing with just the X button, but because of my hitter's PCI, it was actually worse. I still struggle to hit above .250 in the majors. I really think you have to be more patient this year and really wait for pitches to be more in the zone.

A little trick I use is with the guess pitch feature I always guess fastball, so when it lights up I know whats coming. If it doesn't I'm guessing it's something off-speed and I can prepare for that better without flailing at the pitch. So now I've narrowed it down and now my only concerns are that the pitch is in the zone and that they don't sneak a 2-seamer past me. 😉

Yea, I tried guessing and I did a fastball and low. It wasnt bad at all until I was drafted up to the AAA and then it got hard to hit the ball again.

Keep at it is the best I can offer then. It's funny because my good friend can absolutely just tear the cover off the ball in this game, but for some reason he can't pitch for the life of him. What I consider pretty much a no-brainer task he has difficulties with. Different pitching views, different meters it doesn't matter; he just cant do it for whatever reason.

Lol, so did anyone realize that when the computer steals for second base that they actually get there before you tag him and the ump calls him out.....lol. Just a funny fact, not that I am complaining.

Ok so now I am hitting over a .400 batting average. I messed around with the setting and was able to make something work for me. The only downfall is now I have to completely start following the goals, because even if I get a good hit, I still get an ok because I didnt meet one of my goals, lame.
