MLAA: The most noob question ever...

MLAA is not controlled by the Samples slider or "Use application settings" tick. It's an extra thing to the normal AA.

So you can have both normal AA and MLAA on at the same time or just MLAA.

Thanks. GTA4 looks a bit better. Is 2x, 4x or 8x any different?

I don't think I would bother with anything above 2x. I really don't think it's worth the performance drop and can't even tell any big difference (though it would depend on the game). I also don't think you can use MSAA with MLAA in GTA4.

Personally, I skip any additional AA where I use MLAA. I use my card in a HTPC with a 1080p TV and, given the choice, I generally prefer to game with SSAA at 720p than MLAA at 1080p.
