I need to use the MLA format for some work at school. But I'm not 100% sure as to what it is. I some what have the idea but I need to know how the whole paper looks like so that I can do the same. If anyone has any papers in MLA format could you please post them as html so that I can see the layout? Thanks

MLA is a style used for citation of sources while writing. Basically what you need to be concerned about is header layout (check with your teacher about whether or not you need a title page), citation format (usually parenthetical; again, check to make sure this is what they're looking for -- not endnote or footnote formats which are older, but still used occasionally), and Works Cited page (and possibly, Works Consulted). The Works Cited page is an alphabetical listing (roughly by author's last name) of the sources actually quoted or directly paraphrased in your paper. Also, although standard is 12-point Times New Roman, double-spaced with 1-inch margins, you again need to check with your teacher if you think they may have other requirements.

The best information, of course, is from the Modern Language Assocation. Searching for "MLA style" or "MLA style manual" in any search engine will nearly always come up with lots of resources.

look up MLA format or MLA citation, in a search engine and you will find a lot of information.

i never liked the MLA.org site myself.

i actually have a book, but i dunno where i put it.

Ladi is correct.

posting them as HTML would not help. there is definite pagination.

posting in PDF format would work though.

note about the "Works Cited" page. this is NOT THE SAME as a bibliography. the biblio is the list of ALL SOURCES, while the WC is just a page containing the sources you QUOTED or referenced to in your paper as ladi said. generally, a bibliography is not required in MLA formatted papers...

note about format: MLA is a rule, but it's not strict. BUT there are teachers who hold the rules and will mark you off, i call those teachers jerks.
