I can get them to play fine but if they have commentary or subtitles I can't figure out how to turn them off. Does Media Center have a option for this?

I use mediaportal with the mce remote & in that the 4 coloured buttons change this stuff. The yellow & green buttons control subs & switching between different audiotracks in mkv's...
Not sure if mce proper works the same way but they are similar.

I must have a different MCE remote I think mine is 1-2 years old now. But I tried all the buttons and nothing.. Maybe Ill try media portal or I have a vista disk I could try that media center program as a last resort I know it has mkv plugins.

Mediaportal is superior if you primarily want to watch videos rather than record tv. Mediaportal is free so i'd suggest you give it a try as you can still use the remote.
