I'm afraid I've overanalyzed possible configurations and caused a brainfart. What I currently have is a Linksys WRT-300N wireless router with 4-port 10/100 switch built in. I want to run my wired network at Gb speeds. Can I just plug a Gb switch into one of the ports on the wireless router then plug all wired connections into the Gb switch, making all local wired connections run at Gb speed while retaining routing functionality of the wireless router, or will plugging the Gb switch into the 10/100 port of the router slow down my wired connections? Will I have to replace the wireless router with a Gb router and then use the wireless router as a wireless AP by plugging it into one of the Gb router ports and turning off routing functionality on the wireless router?
