was thinking of mixing these 3:
jack daniels, southern comfort and jim beam

and what to mix it with? Coke (either kind)?

or bad idea and just stick with Jack + coke?

if bad idea on mixing the 3 alcohols, WHY?

Buy better spirits, Southern Comfort isn't whiskey. It's a liqueur. It's ok mixed with soda water. It reminds me of a 7 n' 7, but with less sweetness. Jack Daniels sucks, and Jim Beam is tolerable, but is better for a mixer. Mixing them together will just make a mess of suck, with nothing gained.

Man up, don't mix any bourbon with coke.

Jack Daniels is horrid.

I call it 'whiskey' for people who have never had real whiskey.

you're probably better off drinking the piss from a drunk hobo.

Soco and George Dickel are both sweeter than I like, but that makes them ideal for mixing. One of my wife's friends grew up near the Dickel distillery. She likes to mix it with 7 up or diet 7 up.

I started on Jim Beam straight, but like Crown Royal and ginger ale...and coke as a mixer for darker whiskeys when I don't drink it straight on the rocks. I tend to drink slower when I mix, but also drink more....so I try not to mix and just stick to ice. I prefer those drinks chilled and use ice or whiskey rocks.

Yuk. The worst hangover I've ever had in my life was when I was younger drinking southern comfort. Can't stand the stuff now.

It's not that it's a bad idea necessarily, it's just that mixing Jack Daniels and Jim Beam is like mixing Coke and Pepsi. Sure, you can, but why? It's not really enhancing the flavor of either or changing the flavor significantly. It's just two whiskies, and, like two colas, they probably won't complement each other very well.

As far as SoCo, it's not generally mixed with whiskey, and when it is, it usually has a name like Rocky Mountain Bear Fucker, so it's probably not something that people drink for taste. SoCo and Coke is surprisingly passable (as are either of the whiskies you mentioned with Coke). So, you know, get yourself some coke. Or cola.

Why not mix Honey Jack, Dark rhum and some Triple Sec (optional)?
Add some ginger ale or 7up, fresh lemon squeeze and enjoy!

OP, I just don't see the point of doing this.

I can't drink SoCo - it's just disgustingly sweet IMO. I will drink JD or Jim Beam only in a pinch, as I prefer Wild Turkey, Bulleit or Buffalo Trace at at that price point. I am sipping Knob Creek 9 Year Old Single Barrel as I write this . . .

Whatever.. basically taste the same. This is not fine wine we're talking about. I don't mean that to be like a snob but it's like asking whats the difference between Budweiser and Coors. It's like asking should I order my big mac with pickles or without. Should I get Burger King fries with my big mac
