Mixing Siemens adapters with d-link or netgear? Will it matter?

I bought a siemans wireless cardbus for my laptop and a USB Siemens Speedstream adapter for my desktop.

I now need a wireless router.

Does it make a difference if I mix and match companies? d-link...Microsoft...netgear others??

Are some companies not friendly like som ISP's used to not like certain brand modems?

thanks all

it should not matter if all the components that you are trying to network are compliant with the 802.11b standard. and operating on the 2.4 Ghz frequency.

That being said, I only have experience with dlink products which have performed very well for me. They offer a 2X and a 4X option on their equipment which allows up to 44Mbps transfer rate between their products only. My cable co. provided the cable modem and they don't' care how many computers that iI connect to it as long as it is in my home.

What tbalon said - it shouldn't matter if it's all 802.11b standard. (Most wireless stuff is anyway)

I'm running a USB Siemens Speedstream adapter on my desktop and a Microsoft Wireless Base Station as my router and it works great. (I actually get much better performance with the Siemens than the Netgear wireless adapter I purchased)
