Mixing Ram

squigly

Member
I have one 128mb HSDRAM (purchased from pc133memory.com) and am looking to add another.
I am using an ASUS P3V4X motherboard.

I would like to know if any other brand of
memory such as corsair or something would be
compatable.

I am from Canada. When you factor in exchange
rate, duties and taxes, another stick from the
above supplier would cost about $360can.

I'd like to purchase locally or at least from
within Canada.

Thanks

Since I only clock to 126mhz because 133mhz is unstable for
me, does it really matter if I mix?

I can't say this for sure regarding your P3V4X but I and my friends have always blended ram like it was a fruitcocktail or something like that 😀. It works fine for us, and we havn't noticed any performance hit. Ofcourse the ram never works faster than the slowest one 🙂.

I have never not had a problem when mixing memory of different types or using more than one stick for that matter. Your computer will boot up fine and seem to work but eventually will crash. Most people mistakenly think its windows being unstable. If i were you I would just toss my old memory and buy a single 256mb stick
