Hey,

I currently have Mushkin 996587 in my PC, and want to get anohter 4 gigs. I just tried creating a ramdrive and putting my swap file on it, and I noticed performance improvement accessing programs/load times. I would like to get 4 more gigs to = 8 gigs total so I can experiment some with RAMdrive. The prefer to stick with the same RAM I already have rather than mix and match, but was wondering if I found a better deal (as it is out of stock at a lot of places) on comparable RAM, what I should consider. My system is overclocked some as well (voltage remains at stock), so that is a factor to consider. Is it best to not mix RAM, or is it generally ok if the RAM has the same specs and chips?

Well, it is best if you can find the exact same RAM from the same batch.
If that isn't possible, then ... it may or may not work. Just too many factors come into play.

If you do mix (or if you don't), then run memtest and or OCCT for at least 24 hours to make sure it is OK.

you can mix no problem.....get something with similar specs or your system will default to the slower spec'd stuff
