Mixing RAM?

I have an old piece of 256mb PC133 dimm. Will it work alongside faster ram, such as pc2700?

No. Don't even think about it. Installing an sdram into a ddram slot will damage it. Even on boards with both sdram and ddram slots, you can only use one type of memory at a time.
