Mixing Ram Brands

I currrently have 1gb(2x 512mb) of Corsair Vaule Select Ddr400 (pc 3200) of ram on my Asus K8v Se Deluxe. It has 3 slots so i can only fit 1 more stick. I was wondering if i could use a 1 gb stick or does it have to be another 512mb. Does it have to be the Same brand Corsair or can it be another brand. What about DDR 400? Does it all have to be the same or what can be different when it comes to Ram. Can someone clear this up for me!.

Thanks,

Orlando

In my experience, unless you are trying to max out your RAM by overclocking it, everything should be fine with it even if you add a gig stick. I would however put the gig stick in slot 1, and the two 512's in the others. Also, using a different brand stick wouldn't be a horrible idea, but I would stick with Corsair on that one.
