mixing radeon 6950 + 6970

just want to confirm. i've never actually mixed and matched for xfire before, but read about it. i have a 6950 laying around doing nothing and was going to throw it in my wife's computer that has a 6970. if i do this, the 6970 will just "dumb itself down" to 6950 specs for performance, correct? i don't want to unlock any shaders or anything. performance from all i read is negligible. better to just OC them a bit.

Same answer. They each keep their clocks. You can adjust the clocks separately in CCC's Overdrive or match the clocks.
