Mixing Nvidia SLIx32 chipset with ATI Radeon x1000 series GPU

I was wondering if anyone out there can tell me if it would be a good or disasterous if I built a machine with an Nvidia SLIx32 chipset motherboard, used one of the x16 PCI-e slots for an ATI Radeon x1600 card for its GPU, and used two PCI-e x1 slots for ATI Theater 550 Pro cards. The reason why I would go with an ATI x1600 GPU vs an Nvidia 7800 GPU is because the AVIVO function of the ATI card supposedly makes the Theater 550 Pro cards perform better (or at least that's what ATI claims). The the reason why I'm not starting with an ATI chipset motherboard is befause at this present time, Nvidia has th edge over ATI in that area, while ATI has the edge over Nvidia in video encode.

Have I been misinformed? Or am I correct in my understanding?

You shouldnt have any problem with that setup. Seriously, do you think nvidia would be dumb enough to make its chipset working only with their video card??

But, as an ex owner of the nvidia chipset, I would say that I don't regret it on my current board. Not that I had problem with, but the noise from the fan and the heat generated is not something that I was fan of. Now, I'm using a passively cooled chipset (ULI) and my next will be ATI, for the same reason
