mixing memory

Reason I was thinking of adding another 16 GB is I do some recording of my gaming and creation of videos. More of a hobby than anything though I should probably have gone with an i7 since the i5 doesn't have hyper-threading support. Even still the memory probably is overkill. However I may just get the same memory so there is no issue with compatibility.

Current specs:
ASRock Z77 Pro3 MB
Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz
MSI Twin Frozr Radeon HD 7950 3GB
G.SKILL Ares Series 16GB
PC Power and Cooling Silencer MK III 600W

Looks like you posted the same link twice. As long as you upgrade in pairs it should be fine. I believe the RAM will default to the slowest speed though if once of your pairs is slower than the other.

But, why not just get the same one (I am assumming its the one you linked twice) as its only $44?

Also why do you need 32gb of RAM?

If you are not video editing or doing some extremely intensive work 32gb is not needed. 16gb is more than enough for gaming, browsing, and day to day use. It would be helpful to post your build specs, mobo, etc.

He will never use even 8GB ....... you want 32GB why ?

16GB is enough for Video editing or 3dmax or Sonar ....But running a DAW myself I wouldnt mind having 32 or 64GB to preload sound templates...
