I have 2x1GB memory in my system (Mushkin DDR800). If I want to add more memory, should I stay with another set of the same memory or can I mix it with another set with similar, but not exact, timings?

It doesn't matter as much as some people would have you believe. Just make sure you buy memory that is at least as fast as the current stuff, perferably another 2x1Gb. Another two identical sticks would be perfect, though.

For Overclocking, sometimes it makes a difference.
For erm, normal usage It should be fine.

I used to remember have 2 sticks of Corsair and 1 stick of Mushkin, couldn't hit any sweet spots.
Eventually sold my mushkin away.

Prioritize this way:

Same exact chips

if not

Same exact speed timings

if not

As similar timings as possible

if not

same CAS latency, similar timings

if not

cross your fingers. It should be OK though.

If you're overclocking, though, you might run into issues with mixed memory.

Yeah, I Haven't had any problems in the past with NORMAL usage. i.e. not overclocking, everything stock.

Thank you for the replies. I have not done any OC'ing yet. Waiting to get the Tuniq 120 before I do. I have to do quite a bit of video editing soon. I will see if 2GB is ok. If not, I will need to get another 2GB. I was playing around with Vista a little bit also. That OS is a pile of junk when it comes to performance. No empirical data, but just playing with it seems very slow.
