Mixing memory stick on Epox 8kha+?

This is more of a memory question I guess but....

With the Epox 8kha+ mobo specifically, will problems arise from running a stick of 256 Corsair PC2400 DDR with a stick of a different brand PC2100?

I tried this with the Corsair stick and a Centon PC2100 stick (256), and Windows XP bombed out (BSOD). The first Corsair chip I had ordered died on me (this one is the new one)...so I was leary to try the two together again and risk killing another. The Corsair is running fine by itself.
