Mixing memory on an i7 system

I recently built an i7 system using OCZ 3x2GB sticks.

I got some G.Skill ram pretty cheap just today and was wondering if it's ok to mix different RAM brands (timings are different too)

12GB of memory might be overkill, but I figure why not! RAM is getting pretty cheap right now for i7 boards.

should be fine (you may have to manually set it to run at the timing for the lesser of the two sets), also some boards have issue's running at 1600 or higher with 6 dimms, so you may need to underclock. Only major problem would be if required voltages for both sets were drastically different (but if they are both designed for i7 (ie 1.65v or less) that should not be an issue)
