I have a Dell Precision T3500 with three ram cards ( KVR1333D3N9K3\6G the K3 denotes a kit of three ) totaling 6gb , in three alternating slots in triple channel mode . I would like to increase by another 3 but cannot get the same ones . I can get KVR1333D3N9\2G sticks ( new , off the shelf ) . My Question is will they work ( from the spec sheet they are almost the same) ? What possible problems can occur ? Thanks in advance .

They sound like the same sticks to me, only one is a kit of 3, and one is a bunch of individual sticks. Do they have the same actual ICs on them? (Do you have both sets of RAM already?)

I have the kit of three , the other three individual sticks i have not got yet as I am wary . If the only downside is that it does not operate in triple channel mode , then that is not so bad as the difference is arguably small between dual / triple / quad channel and single channel . What is a bit odd is that according to Kingston specs the kit comprises of three normal height sticks ( 30mm ) whereas mine are low profile sticks ( 18.75 ) , same size as the individual ( non K3 ) sticks .

It's the same stick, just sold individually. More of a product/sales control thing.

Those sticks should be fine, and operate in triple channel mode.

Thanks for the reply . Is there any advantage in triple channel , as I believe there is only a marginal benefit in dual channel over single ?

I have a Dell T3500 myself.....and I am running three 2GB sticks of DDR3 1066 and three 2GB sticks of DDR3 1333. (Memory is comprised of two different brands).

Works fine.
