What is the most cost effective way (if possible) to be able to mix inputs? I'd be nice if I could play two different inputs at the same time, and adjust the levels.

For instance - have PS3 sound input mixed with a CD player/another audio input.

Are there any receivers capable of this? Or would I be looking at purchasing an "audio mixer"?

The best way to do it would be with an audio mixer but you could probably do it with your computer if your sound card has multiple inputs. A boombox or similar with a microphone input for karaoke would probably work as long as the mic input isn't too hot for a line level input. Really the best way is to use a mixer though, I've seen them at pawn shops cheap, I don't recall if they had RCA inputs though, you may need an XLR to RCA converter or something along those lines.
