I was unsuccessful at mixing different types of RAM (ECC and non-ECC) together.
Original stick of RAM: Crucial PC2100 256MB 32x72 DDR REG ECC
New stick of RAM: SimpleTech PC2100 256MB 32x64 DDR (non-ECC)
The system emits two long beeps on power-on and will not continue or display anything. And Yes, the SDRAM Error-check setting in the BIOS was on "Disable."
