Mixing different versions of Nvidia detonators drivers

Use to be done quite frequently -- especially with the opengl drivers -- some would use opengl from one version and the rest of the drivers from another -- don't know of anyone doing that today (especially since there seem to be the drivers of the week).
 
its been done, I used to have a mix set..

but as DocDon said, new drivers every week makes it hard to figure out what is the best OpenGL ICD, which is best for DX etc

not really worth the bother for 1-2 more fps
 
I've tried it on many occasions but it doesn't work very well. Quite often OpenGL and Direct3D will fail if you use different versions from the main drivers.
