mixing ddr ram??

Can I mix ddr pc2100 and pc2700?

I have a soltek nforce2 board. and with both ram pieces in it will freeze at XP logo.

I am running XP pro with a 1400 tbird.

Try running with the pc2100 stick with memory timings "set by SPD" in the bios. Record the memory timings that the bios then displays. Then change the setting to "manual" and enter all of the recorded values. Add the other stick and see if it works.

Forgot! Put them in 2 slots that don't set up duel channel, 2&3 I think.
