Mixing DDR and SDRAM

If I were to mix DDR and SDRAM on say a Asus A7A266 mobo would the DDR "adapt" to the speed of the SDR ram? One of my friends is thinking of upgrading and asked me this question, and I have no clue.

I don't think so. Kind of like how SDRAM and EDO DRAM couldn't be mixed a few years back.

No chipset out on the market allows you to run DDR and SDRAM at the same time. Only one or the other.

Can you mix PC100 and PC133 SDRAM?

Im pretty sure you can mix those though... its just the 133 will take on the lower bus speed
