Mixing battery types and voltage

Ok, so I was just wondering if you stored AA, AAA, C, D, etc batteries together in like a case would this affect the shelf life of the batteries?
 
No, I'm talking loose rolling around type container... I know some people store batteries in their fridge and stuff, in cold places, I know heat is the number on thing that will drain a battery faster and shorten it's like, but I was wondering about storing different types in one container.....where they are touching each other.....lol.
