Mixing ata-33 and ata-100 drives

i have mb that supports ata-100 (msi k7t pro2a). if I connect an ata33 and ata100 HD to the primary controller, will is slow down my ata100 drive?

ok... i did a search on "cable" and found that is doesn't matter... the two drive will run independently... cool!!!

If they run on the same cable, IE you are slaving the ATA 33 device on the ATA 100 device they will BOTH run at ata 100. That is what I thought, I could be wrong.

If you run them on the same cable, they will run at ATA33 (the slowest drive). If you run them on separate channels (one on primary, the other on secondary) then the ATA100 will run at its proper speed.
