Mixing and matching different size ddr2 RAM

Will mixing and matching different sized memory (512 and 1 gig) of ddr2 so-dimms work in dell Inspirons (E1505)? Or will they cause a lot of headaches?

No problem whatsoever.........as long as both sticks are 100% compatible with the E1505. Dell notebooks can be somewhat fussy over memory.

Also get something with the same ratings. If you have a 2700 stick with a 3200 they both will default to lowest speed

now the next question to be asked is, what kind of a performance hit will I take by mixing a 512+ 1gb (both pc4200, 533 mhz, single channel) vs 512 +512 (dual channel) in a core duo system?
