Mixing 2 x 2GB Kits

Now buying a 2GB kit (Crucial ballistix DDR2-800)
Was going to buy another DD2-800 2GB kit later on, but may not be the Crucial Ballistix.
Will this affect performance in terms of dual channel performance?

No, provided that the two kits have the same speed and timings. The kit that you will buy need to be as fast as, or faster than your current kit. Watch out for the voltages too. Both need to operate at the same voltage.
